hi, coming to manchester on saturday with my girlfriend and not sure the best places to go.

We will both be dreesed smart but casual e.g shirt and jeans.

Want to drink til around 2am but not a clue which bars open late and let you in with jeans.

was thinking of Lloyds bar and a few aroun printworks but any help would be appreciated.

We aim to be in town for around 8pm.

If you're dressed smart casual, even with jeans, you won't have a problem going in most places. Especially Lloyds No.1 in The Printworks which is a typical Wetherspoons chain bar. You won't have a problem with all the other bars around here and most open late, some well after 2am.

The Printworks is a great introduction to Manchester with lots of bars in one building and it's popular with the younger crowd. As for the best bars in Manchester, none of these currently appear in our Top 10 bars list, which seems to be full of independent places rather than the national and multi-national franchises you'll find in The Printworks.

That said, Harvey Nichols 2nd Floor Bar is currently in our Top 5 cocktail bars, The Birdcage in the Top 5 Gay Bars and Sinclair's Oyster Bar is normally in the Top 5 traditional pubs. All are located just opposite The Printworks.
