Hi Myself and two friend are spending a long weekend in Manchester at the end of January and wonder if anyone can point us in the direction of a nice pub or two. We are all late 30s so looking for somewhere classy and not full of teenagers. If it happened to have nice looking blokes in it well that would be a bonus! We like a dance so any clubs for over 25s that play music you can dance to (even cheesy dance music would do) would be great. We have a flat in Deansgate so are handy for the city centre, I think. Many thanks

Hi. I've been here just 4 months and I've found a lot of bars in the gay village are also used by late 30s and 40s straight people looking to get away from the noise of the Brannigans type places. Via Fossa on Canal St is excellent.
Lime stands out as an obvious choice. The nightclub there plays all the obvious hits from Queen, Abba, Bon Jovi, Dolly Parton, etc. as well as a great selection of Manc classics from the Stone Roses, James, Happy Mondays and Bee Gees.
